northern boom

boomer~dads adopted greyhound~dad adopted him right from the track here in Ct.~he's about 5yrs old now and a great dog-but was terribly abused when dad got him-spit paws and you can see where he has no hair on his hind quarters~thats from having to sleep on concrete floors~and full of worms ;( he's a great dog~ has a lot of cat like qualities and is a pretty big dog-looks like a deer out in the yard-and can that dog run!! but mid way around the fenced in yard he'll stop and go the other way-LOL no wonder he never won a race~they have had him about 3 years now and dad is talking about getting another one! there are 6 in his neighborhood that have been adopted~which is great because these dogs were destroyed if they did not race well or when they would hit about 5 yrs old~oh and thats my son jordan in the pic :)

Hi Tammy,
Boomer is a handsome boy! Greyhounds make such wonderful pets. I had my grey, Buddy, for 10 great years until he passed in 2000. I'm hoping to get another one someday. Thanks for sharing!

Girl - I think YOU need a dog. Cookie and Simon won't mind and if they do - well that's just too bad. You're right - cats are great - but there's nothing like the love of a good dog (ooops, I mean man) (no - I mean dog!!!)

Hi Tammy,
Wow, what a pair of handsome boys!
I think it is wonderful these dogs are being rescued. One of my daughter's friends have one, and actually there is a lady in our neighbourhood that walks 4or5 of them. I see her go by and they go real slow and each one has it's own coat. I must try to get a picture next time I see them. They look old and tired. She doesn't own them she just dog sits.
Anyway the breed has a friendly face eh?
Thanks for sharing....
((((hugs))))
