i love love love this head!!!! it does have a look of a gargoyle to it~i will have to do some research about this fountain and its meaning and artist~i can't wait for the autumn colors to touch the town green and take more pic's of this beauty~
i need to bring my glasses with me next time to read what it says on the spheres that flank the fountain~i can make out a few words in the pic but not all of them~if you click on the pic's you can really see the beauty of the fountain ~
there is not a lot of nice historic things left in my town~well not that i think anyway...
but this is a fountain on our green~and i find it just tooooo cool!! for years it remained dry~i have no idea when it started to flow again~i remember being fascinated with it as a kid~just as much as i do today

That would be an excellent piece for a rubbing. How beautiful the words would be behind one of your art pieces.
