autumn

red maple leaves~ horse chestnut skin and wonderful yellow and orange roses against the beautiful blue october sky......i think we will be done with blooming flowers soon we have had light frost the last few nites ...not a lot of autumn colors yet since i am in southern new england our peak will be here soon tho....

Beautiful pictures!!! Love the roses against the gorgeous blue sky! Aren't those chestnut skins cool looking? And I love the chestnut color on the nut! We have one on our street and the crows pick them up and drop them on the street to crack them open and eat them! It's fun to watch them do it! ;-)

.......a "horse chestnut skin"!!!!Thank you so much for sharing that photo and telling me what it was, dearie!I was given one of the chestnuts like that while still in the prickly skin from a local tree here in town and had never seen one!(Chestnut trees are almost extinct around here!)It's fascinating...
